with peace of mind. Tamron's efforts toward the environment are an extremely important
part of our corporate activities. At Tamron, we give top priority to making certain
that our products have minimal impact on the environment. |
| What does environmentally responsible design
require? |

It requires designs that consider the natural environment
as discussed in our company standard, 'Product Assessment Guidelines.' Specifically,
environmentally responsible design is the reduction of product weight and volume and the decrease of power
consumption. It means the elimination of materials that include toxic substances
such as lead and arsenic. We do this in accordance with the target values and
timeline specified for each field in Tamron's 'Product Assessment Guidelines.'
The 'Product Assessment Guidelines' are published in Tamron's 'Environmental Report
2004.'
