Vari-Focal lenses provide different focal lengths for covering the most commonly used angles of view. Since the scope of images to be captured can be adjusted by changing focal lengths, there is no need for moving the camera or changing lenses even when different angles of view are desired. Tamron pioneered the Vari-Focal lenses as the next-generation CCTV lenses by commanding advanced lens design technologies Tamron has accumulated.
Abundant Lens Line-up
Practically any application can be handled by Tamron's wide selection of 1/3" format Vari-Focal lenses that ranges from an ultra wide-angle 2.4mm providing an angle of view of 111 degrees to an ultra telephoto having an angle of view of 2.7 degrees.
Outstanding Image Quality by the Employment of Aspherical Elements
The main Tamron Vari-Focal lenses for the 1/3" format use asherical lens elements in order to enhance resolution and contrast performance over the entire focal length ranges. Tamron's optical designers paid particular attention to peripheral image quality in light of the increasing use of those lenses with digital recorders that do not accompany image degradation in the periphery. The use of aspherical elements also contributes to the compactness of Tamron Vari-Focal lenses.

Wide Dynamic Range
The standard 3.0-8mm Vari-Focal lens for the 1/3" format, which meets the needs of the most frequent job applications, offers an impressive maximum open aperture of F/1.0 and an F/360 minimum aperture.
Compatible with Day/Night Cameras
Tamron's IR (Infrared compatible) lens series is designed to minimize focus shift in the near infrared range by expanding the chromatic aberration compensation range to include the near infrared range. Each IR lens therefore exhibits its power in 24-hour around-the-clock surveillance when combined with a day/night camera.
