We wish to express our hearty thanks for your on-going support and patronage.
We regret to advise you that we are compelled to discontinue the production of Manual Focus (MF) Lenses for single lens reflex (SLR) cameras and interchangeable lens mounts in the Tamron Adaptall-II mount system. Sales will be continued for as long as inventory exists.
Since the introduction of the mount system in 1979, our manual focus lenses have been highly evaluated by photographers worldwide because of their high quality and unique advantages offered by the Adaptall-II mount system. However, as digital cameras have rapidly gained in popularity, decrepitude of the market for MF film SLR cameras has rapidly accelerated. Under such market environment, sales of our MF lenses have declined sharply in recent years, and we are now compelled to make this decision, much to our regret. Production of accessories such as lens hoods, etc. will also cease.
However, as far as repair services are concerned, we will maintain our warranty/repair service system in accordance with the basic policy of our company.*
Once again, we wish to express our hearty appreciation to all of our customers who have supported Tamron's MF lenses over the last several decades.
Very truly yours,
TAMRON CO., LTD.
