The Development Concept |
|
Increased demand by users for higher optical quality is a constant in this new era of surveillance and security. Additionally, prompted by rapid progress in imaging technologies, environments that allow enhancing image quality from surveillance systems are being formed with the advent of new image compression and digital transmission technologies. Under such market environment, surveillance cameras equipped with image sensors having mega-pixel counts are introduced one after another.
Tamron, the company that rose to the challenge of the difficult task of developing lenses offering high optical quality as critical components of such imaging devices, is ready to respond to such changes in the surveillance market. Tamron, as part of its response, is now ready to release Model M13VG246 1/3"-format Mega-pixel Compatible 2.4-6mm Vari-Focal lens with Auto-iris and Model M13VM246 2.4-6mm with Manual-iris that derive the maximum performance from surveillance cameras equipped with image sensors having mega-pixel counts, enabling the realization of truly accurate surveillance.

Main Features |
- High optical quality that derives maximum performance of mega-pixel surveillance cameras
*Through employing innovative optical technologies, the lens delivers high resolution and high contrast images that are uniformly sharp from the center to the periphery. In particular, resolution in the image center is almost double when compared to that of conventional lenses.
*The lens uses aspherical elements in order to minimize various aberrations and ensure high optical quality while realizing a compact design.
*Tamron's original multiple-layer coatings are applied to prevent ghosting and flare.
- Highly accurate and high quality mechanical construction achieve the maximum performance of the optical system
Each and every mechanical component boasts high accuracy and is assembled with advanced manufacturing engineering technologies. As a result, constructional problems which are likely to cause image degradation through focal point shift or lopsided blur have been eliminated.
- Fast, yet compact
While the lens covers f=2.4mm at its wide end (for an angle of view of 111.3 degrees) and features a fast maximum aperture of F/1.2, it is an extremely compact Vari-Focal lens.
- Ideal for surveillance
Since the lens has the capability to capture images from a wide area in high optical quality, it is ideal for monitoring scenes in a confined space such as an elevator hall or small shop with one camera. High resolution image enables to effectively use the image cropping function of your IP camera.
